TIF District Application

To utilize any incremental Education Property Tax revenue to finance TIF District infrastructure debt, a TIF District Application, including a TIF District Plan and a TIF District Financing Plan must be considered and approved by the Vermont Economic Progress Council (VEPC). The state approval process also requires that certain steps and approvals occur on the municipal level prior to approval by VEPC. VEPC must determine if a TIF District, as presented in a TIF District Plan and application, meet statutory approval criteria based on need (But For), process, location, and project goals.
