Since 2018, through programs developed by the Vermont Legislature, the State of Vermont has awarded $1,780,000 to attract new residents, grow the workforce, and provide support to Vermont employers. In total, 435 new workers and their families have moved to Vermont utilizing these programs.
To build upon the success of previous efforts, the Vermont Legislature passed new legislation in 2022 allocating $3.09 million to create a new iteration of the program. The Worker Relocation Incentive Program is now live and accepting applications from those looking to move to the state, whether to work remotely or take a job with a Vermont company. These grants are awarded on a first come, first served basis, and completing a valid application does not guarantee a grant. These are reimbursement grants and proof of moving expenses is required.
This new iteration of a relocation program includes new parameters, including a pre-approval process to reserve money before moving. For the full list of eligibility requirements, FAQs, and to access the application portal please visit the Think Vermont website.
You can find reports on outcomes of previous relocation programs on the reports page.
