HUBZone Certification Program Workshop

MONTPELIER, VT – The Vermont Procurement Technical Assistance Center (VT PTAC) is hosting a free workshop on the HUBZone certification program at the Lightning Jar in Bennington, Vermont. Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) certification gives qualified businesses a competitive edge when bidding on federal contracts as the program’s set-aside contracts limit competition to only HUBZone certified businesses. A Small Business Administration (SBA) specialist will be on-site to answer your questions.

“Nationally, the government struggles to meet the mandated 3% goal for contracting with HUBZone certified firms. This tells us the opportunity is there and the need is real. For Vermont businesses, the window for eligibility may be significantly reduced by 2020 when the census updates, so this workshop is a great way to learn about the program and get involved”, said Joanne Spaulding, Director of VT PTAC.

Vermont HUBZones: Addison, Bennington, Essex, Orange, Orleans, Rutland, Windham, and Windsor Counties.
