Biography

Michael Keane brings significant experience in the education field and in management and leadership in financial services and management consulting.

He taught at the University of Delaware for four years and worked for the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Norway for nine years. After transitioning to the business world, Michael managed business units for Salomon Brothers Inc, a premier former Wall Street firm, and Thomson McKinnon Securities, Inc.

Michael is a management consultant and coach. He focuses on helping business leaders looking to transform their organizations and helps current and aspiring leaders identify how to make the most of the next stage of their lives.

At KPMG Consulting, American Management Systems, Inc. (now CGI), Watson Wyatt Worldwide (now Towers Watson), Arthur Andersen, and A.T. Kearney, Michael consulted on strategic planning, performance improvement, merger integration, and enterprise transformation for more than 40 global businesses in the US, Canada, the UK, and the Netherlands.

As a dual citizen of the European Union (Republic of Ireland) and the United States, he often has the opportunity of working with clients in the EU. He is fluent in English, French, Norwegian, and Swedish.

Michael has degrees from Saint Peter’s University, Duke University, and Oslo University, Norway. He has a Certification in Organizational Development/Change Management from Georgetown University and in Personal Financial Planning from DePaul University.

Michael and his wife Edie moved to North Bennington, Vermont in 2006 and practice their strong beliefs about serving their local community and state through civic involvement.

Michael is vice president, board member, and past president of the Better Bennington Corporation. He is president of the Board of The Center for Communication in Medicine in Bennington. He served on the board of the American Lung Association of Vermont and as Co-Chair of the Bennington County Democratic Party. He also served one term on the Select Board of the Town of Bennington.
