John Russell serves as the Board Chair of the Vermont Economic Progress Council. John is the President of Russell Construction Services, Vermont’s oldest General Contractor. He is also the managing partner representing the family’s interests in two independent living communities, and one assisted living facility. The Gables at East Mountain, Equinox Village and The Meadows at East Mountain respectively.
John has served as the Board President for the Rutland Economic Development Corporation and the Associated General Contractors of Vermont.
Prior to joining the family businesses John served as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps.
John was born and raised in Rutland, Vermont graduating from Rutland High School in 1985. John then attended the University of Vermont graduating in 1989 with a BS in Civil Engineering.
John has a son, Johann, who is currently enlisted in the United States Navy.
