Ambassador Program Certification and Training

Individuals who want to learn more about the Vermont tourism industry can become a certified Vermont Ambassador by successfully completing a series of tests designed and administered by the Vermont Information Center Division (VICD). Completion of the tests establishes a deeper knowledge of Vermont’s unique offerings to visitors, customer service best practices and resources available for tourism industry professionals. Certified Ambassadors receive a certificate from the Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing and a pin to wear and showcase your expertise.

To get started, email Lynda Unwin at lynda.unwin@vermont.gov for login credentials and access to the testing platform. Tests cover a wide range of tourism related topics specific to Vermont and, in addition to the mandatory customer service test and region-specific test, you’ll be able to choose two tests on topics of your choice.

Each test acts as a marketing and promotional tool within the tourism industry and any business, business sector or region interested in developing a test should contact a member of the VICD training team directly:
