Vermont Emergency Rental Assistance Program (VERAP)
The Vermont State Housing Authority (VSHA) is accepting applications from tenants and landlords for the Vermont Emergency Rental Assistance Program (VERAP). For individuals impacted by COVID-19, VERAP benefits can be used to cover both rent and utility costs. Visit VSHA’s FAQ page or application portal to learn more about the program.

Housing Support Services
If you are struggling with your mortgage, rent, utilities and other housing expenses because of COVID-19, your local Home Ownership Center can help. They have HUD-approved counselors on staff and available to help you obtain the assistance you need to keep your home. These housing counseling services are provided to any household affected by COVID-19.

Homeowners Assistance Program (HAP)
The Homeowners Assistance Program (HAP) provides one-time assistance with overdue mortgage payments, homeowners association fees, property taxes, and utilities. HAP is designed to help individuals impacted by COVID-19 prevent foreclosure, loss of utilities, and displacement.
