Vermont Talent Pipeline Management Team Launch Manufacturing Collaborative in April

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont Talent Pipeline Management (VTPM) will be launching its Advanced Manufacturing Collaborative for Vermont businesses on April 18th at Vermont Technical College in Randolph.

“Together Advanced Manufacturing employers articulate the greatest common workforce needs for our industry and communicate those to the appropriate training providers. The goal of VTPM is to ensure that our suppliers of talent are developing the skills required for success in our industry,” said Paul Millman, Advanced Manufacturing Industry Champion, CEO of Chroma Technology, and Director of Vermont Business Roundtable.

VTPM is a two-phased approach to rethinking the development and sourcing of Vermont’s future workforce. It uses a model developed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and is an employer-led approach to talent development, based on supply chain principles, where the employer is the end customer.  Currently, industry collaborative pilot programs are underway in Vermont Construction and Health Care Industries.

“Working together to solve problems is a cornerstone of the advanced manufacturing industry. With the talent pipeline process, we will ensure that employers have the right skills, in number and quality of employees to succeed and thrive - now and in the future,” said Millman.

VTPM is staffed by the Vermont Business Roundtable, in coordination with partners from the Vermont Department of Economic Development, Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce, Franklin Grand Isle Workforce Investment Board, Brattleboro Development Corporation, Northern Vermont Development Association, Rutland Economic Development Corporation, Addison County Economic Development Corporation, and the Bennington County Industrial Corporation. Vermont Talent Pipeline has garnered the support of the Governor, Secretary of Commerce, Agency of Education, Department of Labor and the State Workforce Development Board.
